About The Position

This Full Time Forklift Operator position is in a warehouse setting, responsible for operating a forklift to transfer materials, manually load or unload materials, report damage, wrap materials, clean and organize the warehouse, prebuild partial pallets, complete inventory maintenance, ensure product rotation using FIFO, assist other departments, learn and apply policies, report quality concerns, complete safety training, and perform other duties under direct supervision.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience operating a forklift
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally
  • Ability to read labels and numbers
  • Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions in English
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Forklift driver certified and ability to pass Firestone Walker Forklift Certification
  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask
  • Dependable, reliable, and mature enough to handle equipment safely, sensibly and responsibly
  • Willingness to ask questions and seek direction
  • Ability to operate and use a PC computer
  • Ability to learn scanning tool
  • Ability to clock time worked and review and approve timecard each pay period
  • Ability to access HR self-service system

Responsibilities

  • Conduct operation and safety check, including battery, brakes, lift controls, and fire extinguisher prior to operating forklift
  • Use forklift to transfer materials between unloading, processing, loading, storage areas and trailers
  • Manually load or unload materials on to or off pallets, platforms, skids, etc.
  • Report any damage to racks, equipment, forklift, or any other safety hazards
  • Wrap materials going onto pallets
  • Clean and organize warehouse daily
  • Prebuild partial pallets for outbound loads
  • Complete pallet and keg inventory maintenance
  • Ensure all products rotate appropriately using First-In First-Out (FIFO) methodology
  • Assist other departments with forklift operations as needed
  • Learn and apply all existing policies, practices, and procedures
  • Identify and report any quality concerns
  • Complete all assigned safety training
  • Work under direct supervision and follow detailed instruction to complete other duties as assigned
