About The Position

XPO is hiring a Forklift Operator to sort, handle, load, and unload freight on a dock. The role uses motorized and manual equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks, as well as mobile handheld devices to scan and track shipments. Operators secure freight inside trailers and follow company safety policies while working efficiently. The dock is not climate-controlled, and the position may involve extended periods in that environment.

The role requires physical work, including handling freight of varying shapes, sizes, and weights; walking and standing for extended periods; and reaching, bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, twisting, squatting, and kneeling. Experienced forklift operators can start at $28.10 per hour. XPO describes itself as a global transportation services provider and an equal opportunity employer. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Be able to perform basic math calculations, with and without a calculator.
• Be available to work a variety of shifts due to varying freight volumes, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.
• Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights, frequently up to 50 pounds and occasionally greater than 70 pounds.
• Safely walk and stand for extended periods on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled and may be slippery.
• Reach (including above the head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel as necessary.

Nice To Haves

• Dock or warehouse experience in the transportation industry.
• Forklift experience in a freight or less-than-truckload (LTL) environment.
• Experience loading and unloading trailers.
• Strong attention to detail and a desire to succeed.
