About The Position
The Forklift Operator is responsible for the loading, unloading, and storing of customer freight in a safe and efficient manner. This role operates within a unionized working environment and offers full-time steady hours with opportunities for overtime. The company has over 50 years of service and provides excellent wages with shift premiums and regular increases.
Requirements
- Forklift license
- 1 to 2 years as propane forklift driver
- Clear criminal record
- Ability to operate a forklift safely
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. repetitively
- Good time management skills
- Creative and effective problem-solving ability
- French or English
Nice To Haves
- Experience in transportation is a plus
- Bilingual
Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift to safely load and unload freight from trucks
- Confirm that inbound freight is received by either scanning the product or completing inbound forms
- Verify the packing labels for accuracy of product being shipped
- Report any damaged freight or quality concerns to the Facility Supervisor
- Meet all efficiency requirements as determined by the SOP and the Warehouse Manager
- Performs other duties as required
