About The Position

Forklift drivers are responsible for operating a forklift to safely and efficiently move materials and finish goods around a production facility, including loading and unloading trucks, stacking pallets of rolls, transporting goods between workstations, and maintaining inventory accuracy, all adhering to safety regulations and company procedures. The role involves ensuring all parameters of Safety, Food Safety, and Quality are maintained, reporting incidents and unsafe conditions, and following all forklift safety guidelines. Responsibilities include verifying shipments, staging and stacking inventory, using a scanning system for inventory management, timely delivery of materials, inspecting products for damage, stacking pallets, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, performing routine checks on forklift functionality, and maintaining accurate records of material movement and inventory levels. The position also requires filling out production reports accurately and performing other duties as assigned by management.

  • Able to read and write.
  • Repetitive bending, stooping and reaching for extended periods.
  • Must be knowledgeable of GMPs, FSSC 22000:2005 and HACCP.
  • Ability to sit for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to operate basic tools and measuring devices (tape measure, scale, etc.).
  • Ability of repetitive reaching, bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling, carrying.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in forklift operation.
  • 1+ year of warehouse experience.
  • Forklift certification.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all parameters of Safety, Food Safety and Quality are being adhered to and maintained throughout the plant.
  • Immediately report to supervisor any incident and unsafe condition (including minor property damage).
  • Ensure to follow all requirements regarding Forklift Safety.
  • Follow all forklift safety guidelines when moving material and/or product.
  • Verify and count shipment received and quality control and report to shift leader any damaged or incorrect shipments.
  • Work in a team environment, be able to stage, and stack inventory in designated areas.
  • Use scanning system to keep up with inventory as it moves in and out.
  • Timely delivery of materials to production lines and finished goods to shipping areas based on production schedule.
  • Inspect products for damage during loading/unloading and report any issues to supervisors.
  • Stack pallets of various products.
  • Maintain a clean, organized always-working environment, as well as maintaining machinery.
  • Perform all tasks with a sense of urgency and accuracy.
  • Adhering to all safety guidelines including proper forklift operation, load security, and reporting hazards.
  • Performing routine checks on forklift functionality and reporting any issues to maintenance personnel.
  • Maintaining accurate records of material movement and inventory levels.
  • Follows housekeeping standards.
  • Maintain area organized and clean.
  • Fill out production reports with accuracy and attention.
  • Follows safety policies and sanitation regulations.
  • Conduct other duties as assigned by management.
