The Extrusion Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining extrusion machinery designated to melt resin and shape plastic sheets. This role involves adjusting tooling and processing parameters to meet product specifications, monitoring for defects and machine malfunctions, and adhering to safety procedures and sanitation regulations. The operator ensures compliance with Safety, Food Safety, and Quality parameters to minimize workplace hazards and immediately reports any identified incidents or unsafe conditions. Responsibilities include reviewing the working conditions of the extruder and dosing equipment, verifying additive levels, coordinating material transfers, troubleshooting operational issues to minimize downtime, checking winder and chiller functions, measuring material properties, monitoring material inventory, maintaining a clean work area, and accurately filling out production reports. The role demands a sense of urgency and accuracy in all tasks, along with adherence to safety policies and sanitation regulations. Other duties may be assigned by management.
