This role is for a Forklift Operator responsible for safely operating forklifts, aerial lifts, and other powered industrial equipment to support warehouse operations, inventory control, product storage, and material movement. The position supports the movement of finished goods, packaging materials, ingredients, and supplies while maintaining safety, quality, productivity, and inventory accuracy. The Forklift Operator collaborates with warehouse employees, inventory control, production, and maintenance teams to maintain organized storage areas, support product flow, and ensure warehouse readiness. This position may work any shift based on seasonal production schedules and warehouse needs.

Requirements

  • Prior forklift driving experience required.
  • Basic math skills required.
  • Basic computer literacy required.
  • Ability to use tablets, scanners, and inventory systems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others and support employee training.
  • Commitment to safety, attendance, and compliance with company policies.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, crawl, bend, reach, and work overhead.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and navigate uneven surfaces.
  • 3–5 years of forklift experience.
  • Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or inventory control experience.
  • Experience with tablets, scanners, WMS systems, or inventory control systems.
  • Experience training forklift operators or warehouse employees.
  • Experience supporting inventory counts and warehouse organization activities.
  • Experience operating in high-volume warehouse environments.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, forklift experience, warehouse experience, manufacturing experience, and inventory system knowledge that provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate forklifts, aerial lifts, and other powered industrial equipment.
  • Move, stack, load, unload, and transport finished goods, packaging materials, and supplies throughout the warehouse.
  • Position lifting devices under, over, or around pallets, skids, boxes, and materials to move product safely and efficiently.
  • Operate equipment controls, lifting devices, pedals, and steering systems to transport materials accurately.
  • Supply materials to warehouse and production employees as needed.
  • Support movement of materials between warehouse locations and production areas.
  • Lubricate equipment, recharge batteries, replace propane tanks, and complete minor daily equipment maintenance activities.
  • Support storage, inventory control, and product handling activities throughout the warehouse.
  • Use tablets, scanners, and inventory systems to maintain accurate product movement and inventory records.
  • Complete warehouse transactions accurately and on time.
  • Maintain organized warehouse storage locations and support inventory accuracy.
  • Perform daily equipment inspection paperwork and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Assist with inventory counts, material tracking, and product identification activities.
  • Stack product safely and accurately within warehouse locations.
  • Assist with training new forklift operators and warehouse employees on safe equipment operation and warehouse procedures.
  • Support housekeeping and organization within assigned warehouse areas.
  • Assist with continuous improvement and maintenance reliability initiatives.
  • Communicate equipment issues, inventory concerns, and operational problems promptly.
  • Perform additional warehouse duties and support other departments as needed.
  • Follow all company safety policies, GMPs, food safety programs, and quality standards.
  • Wear required PPE and operate equipment in accordance with plant safety procedures.
  • Follow lockout/tagout procedures and other equipment safety requirements.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Report unsafe conditions, injuries, near misses, equipment malfunctions, and damaged product promptly.
  • Support separation and identification of held, damaged, or restricted product.
