About The Position

The Forklift Operator loads and unloads trailers and railcars, then transports loads to designated areas. The role checks inbound and outbound products for correct items and quantities and verifies that products are undamaged. It also uses handheld scanners and other equipment to support warehouse management system compliance, assists with cycle counts and physical inventories, and performs routine forklift upkeep. The operator follows company procedures and safety guidelines, works cooperatively with warehouse associates, and helps maintain a clean and orderly facility. Additional duties may be assigned by a supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trailers and railcars and transport loads to designated areas.
• Check inbound and outbound products to ensure items and quantities are correct and products are undamaged.
• Use handheld scanners and equipment to comply with the warehouse management system.
• Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.
• Recharge batteries, fill the fuel tank, or replace the gas tank.
• Perform daily maintenance inspections of equipment.
• Follow company procedures and policies to complete tasks in a timely manner.
• Follow company safety policies and guidelines to maintain safe working conditions for self and others.
• Work cooperatively with other warehouse associates.
• Help keep the facility clean, neat, and orderly.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
