About The Position

This position is responsible for ensuring all materials are transported and/or unloaded in a timely manner while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. The role involves operating powered pallet jacks, forklifts, and reach trucks, inspecting equipment, and managing inventory in various storage areas including a subzero freezer, cooler, and dry goods area. The operator will also move finished goods and work-in-progress, unload trucks, cover and stretch-wrap pallets, and ensure production lines are supplied with necessary materials. Additionally, the position requires recording inventory transactions in the SAP system and ensuring correct labeling of all materials. Maintaining an organized and clean work environment according to 5S principles, GMPs, and USDA regulations is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • Must be willing and able to operate in a safe manner, and in accordance with all company policies and procedures.
  • Must be willing and able to use handheld computer to pick and scan product to outbound loads.
  • Must be willing and able to communicate effectively with other TM’s and assists in coordinating to accomplish all assigned tasks.
  • Must be willing and able to operates powered pallet jack, forklift and/or reach truck.
  • Must be willing and able to work areas and around raw materials, packaging, and pallets to the appropriate production areas.
  • Must be willing and able to move inventory in an organized manner to store in a subzero freezer, cooler, and a dry goods area.
  • Must be willing and able to unloads trucks.
  • Must have LESS than 7 attendance points and have NO disciplinary actions in the past 12 months.
  • This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only.

Responsibilities

  • Transport and/or unload all materials in a timely manner.
  • Operate powered pallet jack, forklift, and/or reach truck.
  • Inspect daily, charge batteries, maintain battery water level, and change batteries as necessary.
  • Work areas and around raw materials, packaging, and pallets to the appropriate production areas.
  • Move inventory in an organized manner to store in a subzero freezer, cooler, and a dry goods area.
  • Move finished goods and work-in-progress from production lines to the shipping area.
  • Unload trucks.
  • Cover and stretch-wrap pallets.
  • Ensure assigned production lines are continuously supplied with clean raw materials and packaging.
  • Record movement transactions in the SAP system.
  • Ensure all raw materials and finished goods are labeled correctly.
  • Maintain an organized and clean work environment according to 5S principles, GMP’s, and USDA regulations.
  • Use handheld computer to pick and scan product to outbound loads.
  • Communicate effectively with other team members and assist in coordinating to accomplish all assigned tasks.
