About The Position

Tradebe is hiring a Forklift Operator for its East Chicago, Indiana facility, the company’s largest processing hub. In this hands-on industrial role, the operator safely receives, stages, tracks, and processes hazardous waste materials while supporting safe and compliant operations. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The listed pay range is $19.65–$20.38 per hour. Base pay starts at $18.90 per hour and increases to $19.63 after 90 days; operator pay adds $0.75 per hour. Pay is issued weekly.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Previous forklift operating experience.
Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
Comfort working in a physically active role involving standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and reaching.
Ability to read, write, and understand English.

Nice To Haves

Experience in the hazardous waste or environmental services industry.
Knowledge of DOT or RCRA regulations.

Responsibilities

Safely operate forklifts to unload incoming trailers and move materials throughout the facility.
Verify incoming shipments and place materials in designated staging or storage areas.
Follow DOT and facility segregation guidelines for hazardous waste handling.
Complete compliance checks, including checks for drum integrity, aisle spacing, and labeling requirements.
Perform daily forklift inspections and basic equipment maintenance, such as cleaning and adding fluids.
Track inventory movements and complete required paperwork, including weight sheets, reports, and tracking logs.
Assist with material preparation, processing operations, and drum sampling as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
