About The Position

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a motivated and experienced forklift operator to join our shipping team! This position facilitates staging, loading, and material handling used in the process of preparing steel fabrication product mix for shipment. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of loading techniques and have high attention to detail. The Receiving department is responsible for managing the receipt and shipment of material into and out of the facility, as well as maintaining organized inventory. This role also supports various departmental operations as a fully cross-trained team member, contributing wherever needed to ensure smooth workflow across all lines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • A minimum of one (1) year of related work experience in manufacturing or a comparable work environment
  • A minimum of one (1) year of forklift operation
  • Fully cross-trained in operating overhead cranes, industrial trucks (including forklifts), and various industrial power tools.
  • Completed training in key safety and compliance areas, including: General workplace safety, Supervisory sexual harassment prevention, Electrostatic discharge (ESD) awareness, Foreign object damage (FOD) awareness, Quality system protocols
  • Demonstrated ability to perform complex tasks with precision, maintain organized workflows, and communicate effectively across teams.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Nice To Haves

  • Overhead crane experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform the required duties with the safety of self, fellow dock workers and the receiving parties in mind and quality as the top priority
  • Report any safety or quality concerns to Supervisor or Plant Manager immediately
  • Unload and load trucks and trailers
  • Safely unload and load coils using cranes and forklifts, utilizing designated lifting devices such as: Coil Caddy C-Hook Lifting Chain
  • Support operators in organizing inventory to ensure efficient production flow.
  • Provide assistance to departmental lines as needed to maintain operational continuity.
  • Accurately receive material into the computer database and apply identification tags to all incoming coils.
  • Prepare for and actively participate in quarterly physical inventory counts.
