About The Position

The Forklift Operator is responsible for loading, unloading, and tracking the shipment of raw and finished items while maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the dock, packaging room, and trailers. This role involves transferring materials to and from production lines, logging materials on outbound trailers, and unloading/verifying inbound deliveries. The position also includes cleaning and organizing work areas, disposing of waste, maintaining allergen segregation, assisting with inventory counts, and identifying/allocating materials. The operator will also notify supervisors of material shortages and clean empty trailers. Returning unused items to storage and maintaining forklift equipment are also key duties.

Requirements

  • 6 months of Forklift Operator experience (can be a combination of employers as long as the experience is at least 6 months)
  • Team Member must pass the Forklift Certification Test upon hire.
  • The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Team Member will work in a cold environment (30 -40°F temperatures).
  • Team Member will stand, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Must be willing and able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Team Member will walk and reach with hands and arms 34-66% of the time.
  • Team Member will use hands and fingers to handle and feel 67-100% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for transferring materials to/from the production lines as needed.
  • Loads and logs materials on outbound trailers.
  • Unloads and verifies inbound deliveries of materials.
  • Cleans and organizes dock and packaging room daily.
  • Disposes of all discarded packaging and damaged items, return items not needed for current production to the dry trailer for return to the dry warehouse.
  • Maintains proper segregation of allergen items as required by Quality Control
  • Assists in physical inventory counts and verifications.
  • Assists production with the identification and allocation of materials.
  • Notifies production and warehouse supervisors/managers of any material shortages or substitutions.
  • Sweeps and cleans empty trailers.
  • Returns unused items to freezer/cooler at the end of shift.
  • Connects forklifts to charger at the end shift or as necessary during the day.
  • Maintains fluid levels in forklift batteries.
  • Other duties as assigned.
