About The Position

Ring's End, Inc. is hiring a full-time Forklift Operator / Yard Helper in the Niantic, Connecticut area to support lumberyard operations. The role loads and unloads materials, assists customers with inquiries and product questions, helps customers locate and load materials into vehicles, reads receipt tickets, moves materials around the lumberyard, and operates equipment such as forklifts, saws, or trucks. The employee also organizes building materials, follows safety protocols, maintains machinery and equipment, and assists wherever needed.

Requirements

• Ability to meet the physical requirements of lifting building materials and operating machinery.
• Flexible and adaptable to changes that affect the job.
• Dependable, with a positive attitude, good written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, self-motivation, willingness to help as needed, and pride in work.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload building materials using lumberyard machinery and equipment.
• Assist customers with inquiries and discuss products and issues.
• Help customers find and identify materials and load them into vehicles.
• Read receipt tickets.
• Move materials throughout the lumberyard.
• Operate forklifts, saws, trucks, and other machinery as needed.
• Keep building materials organized.
• Follow safety protocols.
• Maintain machines and equipment.
• Help wherever else needed to keep operations running smoothly.
