About The Position

CrossCountry Freight Solutions is seeking a Freight Handler Lead with a safety-first mindset and effective communication skills. The role leads by example, takes accountability for the team, and performs daily warehouse duties. The position is based in Eagan, Minnesota, and works Monday through Friday from 12 a.m. to 8 a.m. It pays $27 per hour, is non-exempt, and reports to the Operations Supervisor. There are no direct reports.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be able to frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 90 pounds.
Must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Must successfully complete a pre-employment skills assessment.
Must be able to frequently squat and crouch to handle freight.
Must be able to safely maneuver freight or pallets weighing up to 2,500 pounds onto a dolly or cart using mechanical aid, with a force of up to 130 pounds, in various environments and conditions.
Must be able to carry freight weighing up to 40 pounds for up to 20 feet.
Must be able to help load and unload full trailers of freight weighing up to 45,000 pounds with mechanical aid.
Must be able to open and close cargo doors and climb into and out of vehicles.

Nice To Haves

Previous forklift experience.
Previous supervisory or management experience.

Responsibilities

Ensure all team members are on time and ready for work.
Inspect the dock to ensure it is clean and safe.
Coordinate dock operations with dispatch.
Meet with Operations Supervisors to receive daily assignments.
Assist with loading and unloading a wide variety of freight.
Perform daily warehouse duties while leading by example and taking accountability for the team.
