About The Position

The Forklift Driver is responsible for safely and securely moving goods, loaded pallets, and equipment. The role also includes warehouse duties such as packaging shipments and checking inventories. The position works in a warehouse or plant environment, including exposure to moving mechanical parts, products, vehicle traffic, a range of temperatures, and noise. The employee must follow required personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and comply with GMP, food safety, plant safety, OSHA, and company rules and policies.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old to work in the food manufacturing environment.
Ability to follow work instructions and keep pace with the shipping department.
Thorough understanding of shipping policies and procedures.
Effective communication skills to support the forklift team.
Keen attention to detail and experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Pass certification from Urban Farmer.
Ability to perform each essential job duty and responsibility satisfactorily.
Good hand-eye coordination and excellent motor skills to operate necessary machinery safely.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work in cold environments and wear required PPE.

Responsibilities

Load, unload, ship, and receive warehouse items.
Transport materials to different locations within the facility.
Optimize loads to ensure operational efficiency.
Secure loads to the forklift before transportation.
Accurately complete shift paperwork.
Adhere to production schedules.
Inspect vehicles for damage.
Schedule vehicles for maintenance and repairs.
Follow safety rules, OSHA requirements, company policies, and GMP, food safety, and plant safety rules.
Report food safety and quality concerns promptly to supervisors and Quality representatives on shift.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.
