About The Position

Howmet Engine Systems has an immediate opening for a Forge Inspector at its facility in Rochester, NY. The position supports the manufacturing process by inspecting forged seamless metal rings for aerospace applications. The role is eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus and pays $23–$24 per hour. Candidates should be flexible to work up to a 12-hour shift.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a manufacturing facility.
• Previous forklift operation experience; must be able to become certified as a Howmet EHS and OSHA qualified forklift operator.
• Ability to accurately read standard measuring tools, including a ruler, Vernier, and calipers.
• May be required to wear a respirator for certain tasks.
• Flexibility to work up to a 12-hour shift.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment eligibility will be verified at hire. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Set up measuring and test equipment as needed to determine dimensional measurements specified on customer or in-house product drawings or blueprints.
• Set up and inspect products requiring very close tolerances.
• Perform over-inspections on outside machining.
• Audit parts for conformance to procedures and inspection results.
• Perform first article inspections and prepare inspection records as required.
• Prepare non-conforming material reports.
• Maintain a clean and orderly inspection area.
• Perform final production inspection.
