About The Position

Howmet Engine Systems has an immediate opening for a Forge Inspector at its manufacturing facility in Rochester, New York. The role involves inspecting forged seamless metal rings for aerospace applications. The position offers a $2,000 sign-on bonus and pays $23–$24 per hour. The Forge Inspector sets up measuring and test equipment, inspects products to close tolerances, performs audits and first-article inspections, prepares inspection and non-conforming-material records, and completes final production inspections. The employee is expected to maintain a clean and orderly inspection area. The role may require wearing a respirator for certain tasks and flexibility to work shifts of up to 12 hours.

Requirements

Accurately read standard measuring tools, including rulers and Vernier calipers.
Be able to become certified as a Howmet EHS and OSHA-qualified forklift operator; previous forklift operation experience is required.
Have previous experience in a manufacturing facility.
Be flexible to work shifts of up to 12 hours.
May be required to wear a respirator for certain tasks.
Be legally authorized to work in the United States; employment eligibility verification is required at hire. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

Set up measuring and test equipment as needed to determine dimensional measurements required by customer or in-house product drawings or blueprints.
Set up and inspect products requiring very close tolerances.
Perform over-inspections on outside machining.
Audit parts for conformance to procedures and inspection results.
Perform first-article inspections and prepare inspection records as required.
Prepare non-conforming material reports.
Maintain a clean and orderly inspection area.
Perform final production inspection.
