About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting the Forger Operator in the forge operation. The role involves transferring parts, cleaning dies, removing scale, positioning and turning parts, assisting with die setup and adjustments, inspecting parts, maintaining daily records, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Transfers parts to and from workstations, such as furnace, forge press, and trim press, using tongs.
  • Cleans dies with compressed air and lubricates dies during forging operations. As required, mixes lubricant as instructed.
  • Removes scale from parts and dies, using wire brush.
  • Positions and turns parts during forging.
  • Assists the Forge Operator to set dies in forge press, align dies, position and secure clamps and bolts; oil and grease die parts.
  • Assists Forge Operator in making adjustments and minor repairs, tightens bolts and clamps, and performs any related duties to assist Forge Operator.
  • Inspects parts as they come off the press.
  • Maintains daily timekeeping, production, and interventions on computer systems.
  • Maintains equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follows verbal/written instructions given by Supervisor.
  • Actively participates in efforts to establish and promote a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Follows policies, programs, and procedures for the reduction and elimination of industrial accidents and provides quality feedback to promote safer work behaviors and conditions.
