Requirements

  • Post-secondary education with a diploma or degree in forestry
  • Registered with the FPBC as an RPF or RFT
  • A minimum of 5 years of multiphase timber development project management in British Columbia
  • Solid understanding of, and experience in, operational planning (cut block/road development processes)
  • A strong understanding of the forest legislation, regulation and policy impacting forest planning and management in British Columbia
  • Valid driver's license with a clean abstract
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about forestry and working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Experience in managing crew logistics and providing supervision to the field crew

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with timber valuations and timber cruising
  • Experience using LiDAR for forest development planning
  • Experience with GIS software and its application in forest development planning
  • Experience with budget forecasting and writing proposals

Responsibilities

  • Implementing the Forsite Health and Safety Program
  • Assisting with scheduling, supervision, training, quality control
  • Leading a production field crew through various projects
  • Supporting the operations lead in the preparation of project level budgets and plans
  • Working closely with other Forsite staff to effectively deliver projects
