About The Position
Start an exciting outdoor career as a Forest Technician with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. Requirements
- An associate’s degree in forest technology; or Completion of equivalent formal education in forestry.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
- Possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
- Ability to perform essential job functions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain campsites, improve access, remove debris, and support care of river island infrastructure
- Collect data on plant species, island features, and tree measurements to support planning and management
- Manage invasive species and support habitat protection across river islands
- Maintain boating equipment and tools used for forestry and island work
- Mark island boundaries and assist with deed searches to confirm ownership
- Assist with timber preparation, regeneration programs, and monitoring forest health issues
