Equipment Operator B - Delaware Forest District, Monroe County
About The Position
This role focuses on operating heavy equipment and performing maintenance tasks that support forest roads, facilities, and public safety. You will help preserve forest resources through hands-on work across the district. As an Equipment Operator B, you will perform the following duties: Equipment Operation: Operate CDL rated machinery and vehicles for hauling materials, clearing snow, and supporting forest projects. Maintenance Work: Perform repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance on equipment and tools. Facility Support: Maintain buildings, signs, roads, trails, and other state forest structures. Fire Protection: Assist with wildfire prevention, suppression, reporting, and related training activities. General Duties: Support district operations through project work, surveys, material handling, and site maintenance.
Requirements
- One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
- Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more
- Any equivalent combination of experience or training
- Possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license
- Possession of a Class A commercial driver's license (CDL)
- Meet the PA residency requirement
- Able to perform essential job functions
- Pass a drug screening
