This position supports detailed fieldwork and data collection that help protect trees and plants from invasive pests and diseases. You will assist with surveys, monitoring efforts, and control activities throughout several different counties. As a Forest Technician, you will perform the following duties: Survey Activities: Conduct tree inventories, perform plant pest surveys, and prepare maps to document findings. Control Support: Assist with pest control projects including suppression, biocontrol, trapping, and sampling work. Field Monitoring: Establish study plots, deploy traps, inspect traps regularly, and summarize monitoring results. Project Coordination: Support communication with property owners, contractors, and partner organizations. Reporting Duties: Prepare written reports and organize collected field data in electronic format. Public Engagement: Represent the agency at meetings or outreach events and assist with cooperative programs.
