Requirements

An associate’s degree in forest technology; or Completion of equivalent formal education in forestry.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
Possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
Ability to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

Support foresters through technical fieldwork and help maintain forest resources and recreational areas across the district.
Collect data, assist with habitat management activities, and provide hands-on support for forestry operations.
Mark timber, survey boundaries, and collect field measurements to support timber sales and forest planning.
Enter field information and maintain forestry databases to support resource tracking and project planning.
Assist or lead small crews in tasks such as fencing, planting, timber marking, habitat work, and vegetation control.
Operate and maintain tools such as chain saws, brush cutters, and other field equipment during outdoor assignments.
Assist with insect and disease monitoring through ground checks, aerial surveys, and spray project support.
Help maintain recreational facilities, assist with volunteer projects, and support public outreach activities.
