Requirements

  • One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and general upkeep on buildings and facilities using tools and basic trade skills
  • Maintain grounds by mowing, trimming, pruning, and cleaning outdoor areas around facilities
  • Assist with the upkeep of roads and trails by clearing debris, improving surfaces, and operating basic equipment
  • Complete routine maintenance on tools and equipment and keep work areas organized and clean
  • Help with timber management, regeneration projects, and other state forest program activities
  • Assist with wildfire prevention and suppression activities when instructed
