This position helps maintain forest roads, trails, facilities, and natural areas throughout the Michaux Forest District. Primary responsibilities involve outdoor labor, equipment operation, and support for forest management activities.

Requirements

  • One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
  • Must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Must be able to perform essential job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Clean culverts, clear debris, fill potholes, and assist with resurfacing forest roads
  • Cut back forest growth using saws, pruners, and other hand or power tools
  • Assist with wildfire suppression, prevention, and prescribed fire activities
  • Mow grass, rake leaves, clean restrooms, and maintain district facilities
  • Collect trash from forest roads, trails, and nearby areas
  • Use trucks, tractors, ATVs, and other vehicles for transport and maintenance tasks
