This position focuses on maintaining forest facilities, trails, roads, and equipment to support safe and well-kept state forest lands. Through your work, you will help to ensure that public spaces remain accessible, functional, and ready for both daily use and emergency response. As a Forest Maintenance Worker, you will perform the following duties: Facility Care: Maintain buildings, landscapes, fences, signs, and comfort stations through cleaning, repairs, mowing, and upkeep Trail Work: Construct and repair trails, clear vegetation, maintain boundary lines, and support safe access Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, clean, and complete minor repairs on hand tools, power tools, vehicles, and equipment Emergency Response: Assist with search and rescue activities, wildfire suppression, fire equipment repair, and other related emergency tasks Forest Management: Support tree cutting, planting, pruning, and vegetation treatment to aid forest and wildlife management Chemical Application: Apply herbicides or pesticides under the direction of a certified applicator
