About The Position

Requirements
- One year of experience as an Equipment Operator A (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
- Two years of experience in the operation of heavy construction and specialized maintenance equipment used at this level with a gross vehicle weight of 32,001 pounds or more
- Any equivalent combination of experience or training
- Possession of Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Meet the PA residency requirement
- Able to perform essential job functions
- Pass a drug screening
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy vehicles and machinery to construct, maintain, and improve roads, trails, and forest facilities
- Clear vegetation, repair trail surfaces, and maintain boundary lines throughout the district
- Perform inspections, cleaning, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on equipment and tools
- Maintain signage, clean comfort stations, and inspect and repair deer exclosure fencing
- Assist with search and rescue efforts, wildfire suppression activities, and required emergency training
- Support forest and wildlife management tasks such as erosion control, surveying, planting, pruning, and signage work
