Requirements

  • Four years of semi-skilled maintenance or construction experience which includes one year in the operation of small and medium size construction or agricultural equipment; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Possession of an active motor vehicle license.
  • Possession of a valid Pennsylvania Commercial Driver’s License.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Direct maintenance workers and oversee construction, repair, and upkeep of forest roads and facilities
  • Organize work schedules, assign tasks, and determine equipment and supply needs for projects
  • Manage repairs to state forest buildings, trails, roads, culverts, boundaries, and recreational areas
  • Ensure proper safety procedures, investigate concerns, and conduct safety discussions and training
  • Monitor vehicle and equipment needs, maintain records, and coordinate major repairs
  • Supervise fire crews and assist with fire suppression, patrol, and equipment maintenance
