About The Position

The Forensic Officer II works in the Security Department at the Oklahoma Forensic Center (OFC) in Vinita, Oklahoma. OFC is a secure, 24-hour/365-day inpatient forensic facility providing jail competency services for the State of Oklahoma. It has 268 beds for consumers found incompetent for adjudication or adjudicated not guilty by reason of insanity. The role is full-time and non-exempt, with an hourly pay rate of $17.78. Two vacancies are listed. Shift differentials may apply. Primary working hours are 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.–11:00 p.m.; work hours and location may vary based on business necessity, and employees may be required to work weekends and overtime.

Requirements

Completion of a basic security and/or firefighter’s course.
Two years of experience in security or fire prevention and protection work.
Must pass an OSBI background check.
Must be willing and able to fulfill job-related travel and hold a valid driver’s license.
Upon a conditional offer, must pass a physical examination and be able to occasionally lift or carry 60 pounds and push or pull a maximum force of 30 pounds.
Applicants for safety-sensitive positions must submit to a drug test upon a conditional offer; appointment is contingent on a negative result.
May be required to work weekends and overtime.
