About The Position

The Forensic & Litigation Support Associate assists in the execution of forensic accounting, litigation support, fraud investigation, economic damages, and business dispute engagements. Working under the supervision of Managers, Directors, and Partners, the Associate performs financial analyses, researches financial records, prepares supporting schedules, and assists with the development of reports and litigation-related deliverables. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional interested in combining accounting, finance, investigation, and litigation support services within a dynamic public accounting environment.

Requirements

  • 0-3 years of public accounting, forensic accounting, audit, advisory, consulting, finance, or related experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Internship experience in accounting, audit, forensic accounting, or litigation support preferred.
  • Experience with accounting software and financial reporting systems.
  • Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, or similar platforms.
  • Exposure to business valuation concepts and financial modeling.
  • Knowledge of litigation support or forensic accounting methodologies is a plus.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
  • CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner)
  • CFF (Certified in Financial Forensics)
  • ABV (Accredited in Business Valuation)

Responsibilities

  • Assist with forensic accounting engagements involving fraud investigations, asset tracing, employee misconduct, embezzlement, financial disputes, and other investigative matters.
  • Gather, organize, and analyze financial records, bank statements, general ledgers, payroll information, tax returns, and supporting documentation.
  • Identify financial irregularities, trends, and unusual transactions.
  • Perform reconciliations and summarize investigative findings.
  • Support internal control assessments and fraud risk evaluations.
  • Assist in the preparation of economic damages analyses, lost profits calculations, business interruption claims, and other litigation-related financial analyses.
  • Analyze financial statements, accounting records, operational data, and industry information.
  • Conduct research and compile information relevant to litigation matters.
  • Assist attorneys and senior engagement team members with financial document reviews and discovery support.
  • Calculate and summarize damages under the supervision of senior team members.
  • Prepare schedules, exhibits, charts, graphs, and supporting workpapers for client reports and expert witness engagements.
  • Assist in drafting forensic accounting reports and litigation support analyses.
  • Ensure workpapers are properly documented, organized, and audit-ready.
  • Maintain complete and accurate engagement files.
  • Develop and maintain spreadsheets and financial models.
  • Perform trend analysis, ratio analysis, and other quantitative analyses.
  • Organize and validate large data sets from accounting systems and financial records.
  • Assist with data extraction, cleansing, and reconciliation activities.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, and engagement team members.
  • Participate in client meetings and information-gathering sessions.
  • Assist in responding to client requests and document inquiries.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client information and engagement matters.
  • Participate in ongoing technical training and professional development programs.
  • Stay current with forensic accounting techniques, litigation support methodologies, accounting standards, and industry trends.
  • Pursue professional certifications and continuing education opportunities.
