San Diego Foreman - Landscape Construction
About The Position
Pierre Landscape is hiring a Foreman for landscape construction. This role involves overseeing daily tasks, managing crew members, and ensuring all aspects of landscape trade items are understood and executed. The Foreman will be responsible for reading and comprehending plans, determining material needs, operating standard equipment, and conducting safety meetings. A strong emphasis is placed on promoting a safe work environment by enforcing OSHA regulations and ensuring the use of required safety gear. Daily logs of progress, attendance, and equipment maintenance are also required.
Requirements
- MUST be a part of local union 89
- CA driver’s license
- Clean driving/DMV record
Nice To Haves
- Prior knowledge of landscape/construction equipment preferred
Responsibilities
- Work with, oversee, manage, train, and coordinate the daily work/tasks of employees
- Understand all aspects of landscape trade items (irrigation, grading, planting, drainage, etc.)
- Read and comprehend plans and specifications (dimensions, elevations, square footages, etc.)
- Determine and calculate required materials based upon site logistics, (areas, depths, etc.)
- Skilled in all standard pieces of equipment (mini excavator, bobcat, backhoe, roto-tiller, etc.)
- Conduct weekly Safety Meetings (Tailgate Meetings) for all crew members
- Maintain records of safety meetings held
- Communicate best landscape industry trade skills to crew
- Ensure the active use of required safety gear, enforce OSHA regulations, and promote a hazard-free work environment
- Maintain daily logs of progress, attendance, and equipment maintenance
