About The Position

We are hiring a Foreman for landscape construction. This role involves overseeing daily tasks, managing crew members, and ensuring all aspects of landscape trade work are understood and executed. The Foreman will be responsible for reading and interpreting plans, calculating material needs, and operating standard landscape construction equipment. Additionally, the role includes conducting weekly safety meetings, enforcing OSHA regulations, and maintaining daily logs of progress, attendance, and equipment maintenance.

Requirements

• Must be a part of local union 89
• CA driver’s license
• Clean driving/DMV record
• Skilled in all standard pieces of equipment (mini excavator, bobcat, backhoe, roto-tiller, etc.)

Nice To Haves

• Prior knowledge of landscape/construction equipment preferred

Responsibilities

• Work with, oversee, manage, train, and coordinate the daily work/tasks of employees
• Understand all aspects of landscape trade items (irrigation, grading, planting, drainage, etc.)
• Read and comprehend plans and specifications (dimensions, elevations, square footages, etc.)
• Determine and calculate required materials based upon site logistics, (areas, depths, etc.)
• Conduct weekly Safety Meetings (Tailgate Meetings) for all crew members
• Maintain records of safety meetings held
• Communicate best landscape industry trade skills to crew
• Ensure the active use of required safety gear, enforce OSHA regulations, and promote a hazard-free work environment
• Maintain daily logs of progress, attendance, and equipment maintenance
