Requirements

  • Expert-level understanding of grading, drainage, and construction standards.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret complex landscape drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient operation of landscape construction equipment.
  • Expertise in multi-scope installations (hardscape, softscape, and water features).
  • Proficiency with digital job tracking systems.
  • Minimum of three years of landscape construction experience with demonstrated crew leadership.
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Physical stamina for demanding outdoor manual labor.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and work alongside the crew to execute complex scopes, including precision hardscape installation, final grading, and the construction of technical water features or pool environments.
  • Translate blueprints, specifications, and elevation requirements into executable tasks, ensuring drainage and layout accuracy are achieved in real-time.
  • Conduct ongoing site inspections to identify and correct deficiencies immediately, ensuring the final product is ready for client turnover and municipal inspection.
  • Manage the staging of materials and the daily maintenance of equipment, while tracking labor hours and production progress against the project budget.
  • Enforce a "safety-first" culture by conducting daily tailgate meetings, performing hazard assessments, and ensuring the absolute compliance of the crew with OH&S regulations.
  • Transition to comprehensive snow and ice management from November through April, maintaining a flexible schedule to ensure client safety during Alberta’s winter months.
