About The Position

This position is responsible for supervising and directing the field work of employees engaged in sewer line repair activities for the City's Water and Sewer Dept. The Foreman oversees the repair of water and sewer lines using industry standards and State Laws as a guideline, prioritizes and distributes job assignments to water/sewer repair Crews, and reviews job assignments to ensure correct completion. The role also involves flushing of Water Distribution, performing supervisory duties such as Annual Performance Evaluations, payroll, and discipline, and keeping detailed records and reports of sewer and water line records and repairs. Additionally, the Foreman hires and trains new employees and conducts training for crews and technicians to ensure repair and testing procedures are followed.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent
Five (5) to six (6) years of related experience
State of Georgia Level 1 or 1b certification
Drivers CDL license required
Possession a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
Equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of the location of City streets, water and sewer line repairs and maintenance
Skill in oral and written communication
Skill in dealing with the general public
Ability to train and supervise the activities of waterline and sewer line repairs and troubleshoot issues
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other personnel
Knowledge of water meter functions
Knowledge of water safety regulations
Knowledge of the City electrical, water and gas systems

Responsibilities

Performs other related duties as required.
Arrange and rearrange water and sewer crews as necessary.
Perform mathematical computations rapidly and accurately.
