About The Position

PCI is seeking an experienced Joinery Foreman for its West Coast Marine operations based in San Diego, CA. This individual will be responsible for on-site coordination with customers and crew to safely and productively install joinery scopes, actively recruit and train field team members, and ensure overall crew safety, performance, productivity, and work quality for assigned projects. The role involves collaborating with the superintendent and project manager for project startup, execution, and close-out, using look-ahead schedules and manpower forecasts to optimize material, manpower, and crew mix. The Foreman will systematically direct and assign crew field activities to maximize productivity while maintaining PCG standards of quality, performance, and workplace safety. Additionally, the position requires creating and maintaining positive relationships with all trades, vendors, co-workers, and customers, conveying a professional and positive attitude as the on-site representative, and using available technology to perform job tasks efficiently. The role also includes performing other related duties as assigned, with on-the-job training offered. This position is safety-sensitive.

Requirements

Minimum of five years of shipbuilding and joinery work experience.
Strong understanding of joinery systems on Commercial, MSC and US Navy vessels.
Shipbuilding experience in New Construction and/or Repair/ Modernization.
At least 3-5 years of experience in a Foreman/Supervisor role.
Must be willing to travel and/or relocate for projects.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
Proficient in reading shop drawings.
Managed a crew size of 20+ craftsmen.
Proficient in quality control.
Physically able to perform assigned tasks.
Local to San Diego, CA.
