About The Position

PCI is seeking an experienced Joinery Foreman for its West Coast Marine operations based in Seattle, WA. This individual will be responsible for on-site coordination with customers and crew to safely and productively install joinery scopes, actively recruit and train field team members, and ensure overall crew safety, performance, productivity, and work quality for assigned projects. The role involves collaboration with the superintendent and project manager for project coordination, and utilizing look-ahead schedules, manpower forecasts, and project specifications for optimal scheduling of material, manpower, and crew mix. The Foreman will systematically direct and assign crew field activities to maximize productivity while maintaining PCG standards of quality, performance, and workplace safety. Building positive relationships with all trades, vendors, co-workers, and customers is essential, as is conveying a professional and positive attitude as the on-site representative. The position requires using available technology for job tasks and performing all duties in a safe and alert manner. On-the-job training is offered. This position is safety-sensitive.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of shipbuilding and joinery work experience.
  • Strong understanding of joinery systems on Commercial, MSC and US Navy vessels.
  • Shipbuilding experience in New Construction and/or Repair/ Modernization.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a Foreman/Supervisor role.
  • Must be willing to travel and/or relocate for projects.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Proficient in reading shop drawings.
  • Managed a crew size of 20+ craftsmen.
  • Proficient in quality control.
  • Physically able to perform assigned tasks.
  • Local to Seattle, WA.

Responsibilities

  • Systematically direct and assign crew field activities to achieve maximize productivity while maintaining PCG standards of quality, performance and workplace safety.
  • Create and maintain positive relationships with all trades, vendors, co‐workers and customers to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Convey a professional and positive attitude as the onsite representative of branch and corporation.
  • Use available technology to perform job tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to perform all job duties and associated work functions in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
