About The Position

The FTZ Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and maintaining Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) operations, inventory controls, customs documentation, and regulatory compliance within the warehouse. This position ensures accurate FTZ inventory records, reconciles warehouse management system (WMS) data with FTZ records, investigates inventory discrepancies, and supports compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and applicable FTZ regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, logistics, customs, or FTZ operations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to research and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a Foreign-Trade Zone.
  • Knowledge of U.S. Customs and Border Protection requirements.
  • Experience with WMS and/or FTZ inventory systems.
  • Experience with import/export documentation and international shipments.
  • Knowledge of inventory reconciliation and warehouse controls.
  • Comfortable working around and, when necessary, operating warehouse material-handling equipment, including forklifts and powered industrial trucks.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily operations related to Foreign-Trade Zone inventory and warehouse activities.
  • Maintain working knowledge of FTZ regulations, CBP requirements, and applicable company procedures.
  • Prepare, maintain, and process documentation required for FTZ operations and imported shipments.
  • Coordinate paperwork and required approvals for inbound overseas containers prior to unloading and receipt.
  • Reconcile daily inventory between the WMS and FTZ inventory system.
  • Research, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies, including shortages, overages, receiving errors, and transaction issues.
  • Review commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation against physical receipts to identify discrepancies.
  • Prepare and maintain shortage and overage reports.
  • Ensure accurate recording and tracking of merchandise admitted into and removed from the FTZ.
  • Maintain accurate FTZ inventory records and supporting documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Assist with internal and external FTZ audits and provide documentation as requested.
  • Monitor FTZ inventory transactions for accuracy and compliance with established procedures.
  • Communicate with warehouse operations, transportation, customs brokers, carriers, and other internal or external partners to resolve shipment and inventory issues.
  • Ensure warehouse employees understand and follow FTZ security, loss prevention, safety, and operational procedures.
  • Stay current on changes to FTZ regulations, customs requirements, and company procedures.
  • Identify process improvements that increase inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
  • Forklift or powered industrial truck certification may be required for physically accessing or moving inventory.
  • Other duties as assigned.
