About The Position

BC Systems is seeking a Forecaster to monitor assigned fields, maintain accurate records, calculate yields, and project optimal harvest timing. This role requires close collaboration with growers regarding watering and spray schedules, and with the Harvest Scheduler to determine harvest equipment setup locations. The Forecaster will also communicate known field defects to the Quality Assurance group.

Requirements

• Must be able to navigate uneven surfaces
• Bilingual
• Computer literate
• Ability to work outdoors through all seasons and weather types including wind and rain, indoors under refrigerated conditions to 32F, wet, dusty, and noisy conditions
• Ability to work day, swing, or night shifts within a 7-day workweek schedule
• Literacy required, English required
• Possess a valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook
• Knowledge of all aspects of harvesting fresh vegetables

Responsibilities

• Monitoring of assigned fields
• Accurate record keeping

• Working closely with the optimum timing for harvesting of the field
• Working with the Harvest Scheduler on where the Custom Harvester is to set up the harvest equipment
• Working closely with the Quality Assurance group to communicate known defects in the field
