Ford Express Service Technician
About The Position
Five Star Ford Stone Mountain is hiring Ford Express Technicians / Mechanics. Responsibilities include testing systems and components to ensure they are secure and working properly, isolating issues, and driving vehicles for testing. The role also involves inspecting and refilling fluid levels, ensuring proper tire inflation, cleaning and lubricating fittings, and installing new oil drain plugs and oil filters. Communication of oil levels to teammates is also a key part of the role. The technician will maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing and repairing vehicles, and repair or replace worn parts before they cause breakdown or damage. The use of power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools is expected.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of automobiles and speedy diagnostic abilities
- Effective analytical and communication skills and eagerness to improve
- Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Nice To Haves
- ASE Certification/Technical degree (preferred)
- One year in a service department
Responsibilities

- Drive the vehicle for testing purposes and inspect and refill fluid levels as necessary.
- Ensure tire pressure for proper inflation, clean and lubricate fittings as needed.
- Install a new oil drain plug and new oil filter and communicate oil levels to teammates.
- Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing as well as repairing vehicles.
- Repair or replace worn parts ahead of the vehicle’s breakdown or damage.
- Use power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to perform various tasks.
