Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and airline operations experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of aviation safety, flight operations, FOQA, SMS, ASAP, or related operational experience.
  • Experience analyzing aviation safety data, identifying trends, preparing reports, and supporting corrective actions.
  • Operational familiarity with Flight Operations, Dispatch, Inflight, Maintenance, Training, and airline safety programs.
  • Working knowledge of SMS principles, risk management, safety assurance, safety reporting, and safety promotion.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with FOQA/FDM software such as Teledyne AirFASE, CEFA, or similar systems preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Teledyne AirFASE, CEFA, ProSafeT, or similar aviation safety data/reporting systems preferred.
  • Understanding of Crew Resource Management, aviation human factors, and fatigue risk management.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, facilitation, and instructional skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, protect sensitive safety data, and collaborate effectively with operational departments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the FOQA program, including administration, governance, data protection, continuous improvement, and SMS alignment. (25%)
  • Facilitate FOQA Monitoring Team activities, including event review, meeting coordination, documentation, recommendation tracking, and stakeholder follow-up. (20%)
  • Oversee FOQA data collection, validation, analysis, and reporting to identify hazards, monitor safety performance, and support risk-based decision-making. (20%)
  • Develop safety trend analyses, studies, reports, and presentations to communicate emerging risks and support proactive mitigation. (15%)
  • Coordinate corrective actions and safety recommendations with operational departments to ensure FOQA findings are assessed, addressed, and monitored. (10%)
  • Support SMS, safety assurance, and safety promotion initiatives by integrating FOQA insights into communications, briefings, training support, and continuous improvement efforts. (10%)
