About The Position

Prep Network is seeking a team player to organize and operate youth basketball tournaments and showcases nationwide. As a Showcase Director, you will be responsible for the planning and execution of events, serving as the face of the events team and upholding the standard of first-class tournaments and showcases. You will leverage provided tools, training, and resources to create an elite experience for players and teams.

Requirements

• Current or past basketball coach with a strong passion for the game.
• Strong ability to multitask and prioritize competing priorities.
• Experience in running events or camps with 50-300 participants and a team of coaches.
• Proven ability to make decisions under pressure and solve problems on the fly.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Experience working with and managing groups of people of 10 or more.
• Proficient in working in Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out all event set-up, check in, and run of show.
• Managing all staff and working closely with event coaching staff to ensure the best experience for all in attendance.
• Collaborating with the event team at headquarters to organize all details and checklists for event preparation.
• Communicating with all event staff including facility contacts, check-in workers, coaches, and officials assignors.
• Thinking on your feet and adjusting to situations both in and out of your control.
• Speaking in front of a group of 50-300 players/parents and delivering a motivational message.

Benefits

• Pay: $530 for one event.
• Expenses related to the event (rental car, hotel, meals, gas) will be paid for by Prep Network.
• Opportunity to see top athletes who will go on to play at the collegiate level.
• Flexible Schedule: Events run nearly every weekend from February - April. Directors can choose to work locally or travel and decide which weekends they work.
