About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Lead Cook / Food Truck Operator to help lead the daily operation of Good Burger at OKC Fair Park. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in cooking fresh food, and is excited to run a small kitchen. The right candidate will be given an opportunity to help lead and shape a growing food truck concept as well as creative input on menu items and specials. The truck normally operates on site 3-5 days a week (sometimes more depending on show schedules) and serves fresh smash burgers and cheesesteaks made with seasonal ingredients and bold, balanced flavors.

Requirements

  • 3+ years kitchen experience
  • Ability to manage a small kitchen independently during service.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • ServeSafe Manager or equivalent food safety and sanitation certification or ability to pass certification.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods.
  • Reliable and self-motivated with a positive attitude.
  • Strive to exceed customer expectations.
  • Utilize task prioritization and effective time management skills to meet frequent and competing deadlines in a high-volume, high-stress environment.
  • Perform detailed work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment handling multiple tasks with flexibility in a calm, professional manner.
  • Effectively communicate with others in a clear, business-like, respectful and personable manner focused on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative environment.
  • Maintain high standards of appearance and grooming (i.e., clean, wrinkle free clothing, proper uniform/attire, close attention to personal hygiene).
  • Meet the company standard for excellent attendance, job reliability, diligence and dedication.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Speak, read and write in English.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items including smash burgers, cheesesteak, fries and specials.
  • Manage daily food truck operations during service hours.
  • Complete food prep including proteins, vegetables, sauces, and ingredient portioning.
  • Maintain consistent food quality and presentation.
  • Monitor inventory and assist with ordering and supply management.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe kitchen environment.
  • Set up and break down the truck for service.
  • Assist in other departments, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
