Requirements

Knowledge of and commitment to upholding high standards of food safety and hygiene.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently supervised and unsupervised
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a genuine desire to provide outstanding customer service.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth operations.

Nice To Haves

Previous food service experience is an asset
Valid WHMIS and Food Safe (Basic or Advanced), First Aid Certification is an asset
Additional certification may be required by work location

Responsibilities

Assures quality, courteous customer service is provided to all customers
Light cash handling duties including processing customer transactions, balancing float, participating in audits
Educate customers on menu items, daily features, dining hall events
Maintains continual cleaning and sanitizing of surrounding work area
Food preparation in accordance with menu at assigned station
Stock and merchandise shelves, cereal and bread bar, salad bar, and coolers
May wash and sanitize dishes and utensils
Record temperatures, label products in accordance with FIFO, complete waste log and cleaning log
Adhere to all Aramark and Dalhousie University policies and procedures
May perform other job duties as required
