About The Position

This team member will be expected to work some evening and weekend hours. The role involves patient service delivering meals to patients, following HIPPA regulations and patient safety standards. It also includes working in a Call Center, answering phone calls from patients, family members, and nursing staff to obtain patient meal selections and answer questions concerning diet restrictions and tolerances. The position requires the ability to sit for 3+ hours at a time to answer phone calls at a desktop computer and have basic computer skills. Additionally, the role involves pantry stock duties, organizing and restocking nursing unit pantries utilizing order sheets provided by clinical staffing orders.

Requirements

• Must be able to sit for 3+ hours at a time to answer phone calls at a desk top computer.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Requires the ability to operate kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to wear protective equipment/clothing required by the environment or government regulations such as gowns, gloves, goggles, rubber-soled closed-toe footwear, etc.
• Requires adherence to local health regulations and safety requirements to produce safe food for consumption.
• Requires the ability to climb ladders.
• Physical requirements to include: reaching, standing for long periods of time, squatting, bending, carrying and/or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 35 lbs. or more, up to 80% of the time.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Prior food service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, plates, serves, and transports food and supplies to provide a high level of satisfaction for patients, family members, physicians, team members, and the public.
• Responsible for timely, accurate, and courteous service.
• Responsible for associated sanitation, cleaning, and infection control practices to ensure food safety.
• Operates a variety of food service and computer equipment.
• Delivers meals to patients, following HIPPA regulations and patient safety standards.
• Answers phone calls from patients, family members, and nursing staff to obtain patient meal selections and answer questions concerning diet restrictions and tolerances.
• Organizes and restocks nursing unit pantries utilizing order sheets provided by clinical staffing orders.
