About The Position

This role involves patient service, including delivering meals while adhering to HIPPA regulations and patient safety standards. It also includes call center duties, such as answering phone calls from patients, family members, and nursing staff to obtain meal selections and answer questions about diet restrictions and tolerances. The position requires the ability to sit for extended periods (3+ hours) while using a desk-top computer and basic computer skills. Additionally, pantry stocking is a responsibility, which involves organizing and restocking nursing unit pantries using provided order sheets.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience is preferred.
• No experience is required.
• Requires the ability to operate kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to wear protective equipment/clothing required by the environment or government regulations such as gowns, gloves, goggles, rubber-soled closed-toe footwear, etc.
• Requires adherence to local health regulations and safety requirements to produce safe food for consumption.
• Requires the ability to climb ladders.
• Physical requirements to include: reaching, standing for long periods of time, squatting, bending, carrying and/or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 35 lbs. or more, up to 80% of the time.

• Prior food service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patient service delivering meals to patients; following HIPPA regulations and patient safety standards.
• Call Center; answering phone calls from patients, family members, nursing staff to obtain patient meal selections and answer questions concerning diet restrictions and tolerances.
• Must be able to sit for 3+ hours at a time to answer phone calls at a desk top computer, and have basic computer skills.
• Pantry stock; organizing and restocking nursing unit pantries utilizing order sheets provided by clinical staffing orders.
• Prepares, plates, serves, and transports food and supplies to provide a high level of satisfaction for patients, family members, physicians, team members, and the public.
• Responsible for timely, accurate, and courteous service.
• Responsible for associated sanitation, cleaning, and infection control practices to ensure food safety.
• Operates a variety of food service and computer equipment.
