About The Position

This position is for a Food Services Worker at Riley Children’s Hospital, working evenings and rotating weekends. The role involves preparing, plating, serving, and transporting food and supplies to patients, family members, physicians, employees, and the public. It emphasizes quick, accurate, and courteous service, customer concern resolution, and maintaining sanitation, cleaning, and infection control practices for food safety. The role also requires operating various food service and computer equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • No experience is required.
  • Requires the ability to operate kitchen equipment.
  • Must be able to wear protective equipment/clothing required by the environment or government regulations such as gowns, gloves, goggles, rubber-soled closed-toe footwear, etc.
  • Requires adherence to local health regulations and safety requirements to produce safe food for consumption.
  • Requires the ability to climb ladders.
  • Physical requirements to include: reaching, standing for long periods of time, squatting, bending, carrying and/or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 35 lbs. or more, up to 80% of the time.

  • Prior food service experience is preferred.
