About The Position

The United Protestant Association of NSW Limited (“UPA”) is a values-driven non-profit care organisation serving local communities throughout NSW. We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our team at Ascott Gardens Hostel in our Central West Region. This role involves performing cooking and kitchen duties, providing a high standard of quality care to facility residents by maintaining a high standard of cooking and food service within the facility. Availability is required on weekends.

Requirements

• Experienced in planning, preparation and cooking fresh meals
• Experience in table service and clearing duties
• Knowledge and experience in working to the compliance of the Food Safety Standards to HACCP level
• Excellent communication skills
• Team player who is highly motivated
• Availability to work various shifts across various days
• Vaccinated in accordance with UPA’s Immunisation and Vaccination Policy. (including proof of the required doses of a TGA approved COVID-19 vaccine and annual influenza)
• Undertake a National Criminal History Check
• Pre-Employment Medical Assessment

Nice To Haves

• Experience in working in a fast-paced kitchen and or bulk food preparation
• Experience in Aged Care desirable
• Current First Aid Certificate desirable
