About The Position

The Food Service Worker supports students during lunch periods and helps maintain a safe, clean, welcoming, and orderly environment. The role works closely with school staff to supervise students, support meal routines, and encourage appropriate expectations and behaviors. Duties include checking student names against lunch rosters, helping younger students open food and drink containers, monitoring students during meals, and cleaning and organizing the multipurpose room. The position is part-time and non-exempt, located in Avondale, with scheduled hours from 10:15 A.M. to 1:15 P.M. Monday through Friday. The listed salary is $17.00 per hour. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
One year of experience working with children.
Possess or be able to obtain a Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Ability to work in a timely and efficient manner.
Ability to relate to students, staff, and the public in a positive and professional manner.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Ability to stoop, kneel, and crouch.
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Supervise students during lunch periods and ensure proper behavior.
Check students' names against assigned lunch rosters.
Assist lower-grade students with opening food and drink containers.
Monitor students and help maintain a safe and orderly lunch environment.
Wipe and clean tables throughout lunch periods.
Sweep and mop the multipurpose room as needed.
Collect and dispose of waste to maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the multipurpose room.
Assist school staff with student supervision and lunch-related routines.
Lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
Perform carrying, pushing, and pulling activities as required.
Follow school policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Work cooperatively with students, teachers, staff, and other school personnel.
Maintain a positive, caring, and professional attitude when interacting with students.
