About The Position
The Food Service Worker performs kitchen duties as directed to help ensure all students have equal access to healthy, appealing, and delicious meals. The role follows district, Food and Nutrition Services department, health department, and program regulations, and helps promote positive community relations among school and community clientele. The position has no direct supervisory responsibilities and reports to the Kitchen Manager or designee. The work location may change to meet organizational requirements.
Requirements
- Criminal background check and fingerprinting are required.
- High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma.
- Experience in food service, including serving, catering, kitchen, bartending, or restaurant service.

Responsibilities
- Rotate through kitchen duties.
- Assist with daily cleaning of kitchen and service areas.
- Assist with food preparation and service.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
- Operate, clean, and sanitize food service equipment, pots, pans, and utensils.
- Check the quality and temperature of prepared foods before service.
- Assist with cleaning refrigerators, freezers, and storerooms at intervals designated by the manager.
- Perform cashiering duties.
- Be familiar with food service computer functions.
- Communicate effectively in verbal and written form.
- Follow HACCP Plan requirements, including completing checklists and following standard operating procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
