About The Position

Monterey Park Hospital is seeking a Food Service Worker for its Dietary Department. The role is per diem with an 8-hour variable shift and reports to the Director of Dietary.

The Food Service Worker maintains sanitation, prepares patient meals according to established procedures, follows FIFO systems, and ensures food is covered, labeled, and dated. The worker may also perform duties in other departmental areas, including office assistance, food preparation, and special functions, and is expected to meet the needs and expectations of patients, customers, and medical staff.

Requirements

• Ability to use decimals and fractions.
• Ability to operate a cash register and make change.
• Ability to interpret a price list.
• Current ServSafe Food Handler Certification required.

Nice To Haves

• Grade school education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high levels of sanitation.
• Prepare meals for patients following established procedures.
