About The Position

NANA Management Services (NMS) is seeking a Food Service Worker to provide essential meal services within the Juneau School District. This position is responsible for assisting with food preparation, serving nutritious meals to students and staff, maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining environment, and ensuring compliance with all food safety regulations. The Food Service Worker plays a vital role in supporting the daily nutritional needs and overall well-being of the school community.

Requirements

Must obtain and submit an Alaska Food Worker Card within 30 days of hire date.
Knowledge of proper food service sanitation methods and equipment.
Must speak, understand, read, and write English.

Nice To Haves

Six (6) months’ experience in the food service or janitorial industry.
At least one (6) months of work experience or documented vocational training sufficient to demonstrate a knowledge of cleaning equipment, food preparation, and general cleaning processes or a suitability for this type of work.
Certain position(s) require a valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS’ vehicle insurance policy.

Responsibilities

Clean dishes, utensils, kitchen equipment, and work areas by hand or machine; maintain cleanliness of dining and storage areas.
Stock supplies and maintain proper inventory levels in prep, serving, or storage areas.
Assist with food preparation, cooking, and serving of meals as needed.
Set up and break down service areas, tables, snack bars, and serving lines.
Remove trash and participate in scheduled deep-cleaning projects.
Support cooks and other staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
